The Prey

The Prey

Cathlina sat in a seat beside the dance floor gazing at the people swaying to and fro in different rhythms.  The music played hard and fast, heavy metal, a new genre of music she had discovered she liked.  She looked meticulously up at the stage and that band that played.  She smiled at the singer.  How intriguing, how enticing he was.  She noticed from the corner of her eye he was smiling at her as well.  In between lyrics, he slyly grinned from ear to ear.  Cathlina bit her bottom lip, wickedly.  How could she not?  This was, after all, a new world discovered.  A new world that begged to be exploited and toyed with as best as could be managed.

She had been waving off men for the majority of the night.  Not caring to dance with one of them, showing no interest. This one though, was her favorite, this one she wanted ever so greatly to have fun with.  Cathlina opened her legs ever so slightly, but not enough to show anything but a simple dark shadow that played on the flesh of her thighs.  She could see the musician stare blankly, almost losing the ability to keep up with the beat of the drums, the strum of the guitars, almost.

She threw back a cocktail of some kind and made a grimace as she stood up.  Her gaze never waned from the musician, but she weaved in and out of the people without hesitations.  She made her way to what appeared to be the front of the stage, but then stopped short.  Cathlina grabbed the arm of a tall, strong man and pulled him firmly from the hold of another female.  The other girl attempted to say something, but a quick glance of Cathlina’s eyes stopped her short and she could do not but gaze down at the floor and back away.
Cathlina’s new beau looked down at her completely baffled, but lost any desire to move away as she stared longingly up at him.  He returned her smile and Cathlina began to move.  Hard with music, her body hit every beat, her hips rocked every note.  So entrancing was her dance as she stared wantonly, playfully, at the musician, who could not seem to keep the look of disdain from his face.

He was starting to falter, and fumble in his words.  The crowd started to grow irritated and silent.  The band stopped playing, the singer stormed off the stage.  The club was silent.  Cathlina burst into laughter and could not control her glee.  Her dance partner looked at her quizzically.  She reached up and kissed him on the cheek.

“My dear, you played your part rather well.”  Cathlina purred as she patted the man softly on the crotch of his pants.

She turned toward the back of the club as though she heard something.  Her searching stare turned into a small smile of satisfaction.  She walked to the bar and ordered another cocktail.  Cathlina started to do a little sway as she leaned against a stool and sipped her drink.  The jukebox had taken over where the band had left off.

“Band has been playing here for years.  Wonder why Trey would mess up now?”  The bartender asked glumly

Cathlina lifted her gaze to him with amusement, almost childlike.  She shrugged her shoulders as she sipped some more of her drink.

The bartender smiled at her in return.  “Saw you dance out there.  Pretty good, you ever dance pro?”  He inquired while wiping down the bar.

Cathlina looked annoyed, and slightly offended.  Her innocent gaze turned into a very menacing and annoyed look.  What exactly was he asking her?

“I just meant like interpretive stuff?  Ever dance for studio or somethin’?”  He stopped seeing this conversation was going no further.

“Ballet.”  She mumbled as she left from the bar.

She moved her sights around the bar and saw the woman with whom she had pulled away from the man earlier.  The woman was talking to another man.  Cathlina looked at him up and down and smiled sinfully.
The blonde headed man glanced at Cathlina and sat up a bit taller in his seat.  The girl sat beside him casually talking and giggling.  The man yawned a few times and grinned a bit, but never really paid her no mind.  Cathlina approached and sat in a chair as close as possible to the man.  She inhaled taking in his scent and he turned his head to look at her but his eyes stopped on her neck.  His nostrils flared as some intoxication seemed to hit him.

The girl obviously irritated jumped up and confronted Cathlina.  “You have some nerve.  First you take my date and now you try to move in on him!”  She squealed pointing at the man beside her.

Cathlina and the man both laughed at her display.  The man raised his eyes to Cathlina’s without breaking contact with her for a moment.

“I saw you dance.”  He stated

Cathlina shrugged.  “Yes.  What did you think?”

He barely opened his mouth when the girl sat back down roughly almost knocking the chair back against the table in the process sloshing Cathlina’s drink.  They both broke their gaze from each other and looked toward the girl..

“I can dance too.”  The girl quipped

The man in amusement smiled with sly amusement.  “You can?”  He asked with a deep accent.  With a flick of his wrist he motioned for her to show him.

The girl stood up and started swaying with the music on the jukebox.  She slid her hands down her hips, ran them back up between her thighs, past her belly, and through her hair.

The man, with his hand slightly in front of his mouth smiled, trying not to laugh.  He leaned over to Cathlina’s ear and whispered into it with some length.  He moved his hand up to her throat and ran it up running a thumb along her jawline. “Your skin is as silk.”  He whispered low.  His gaze was never breaking from her.

The girl stopped dancing and crossed her arms in agitation.  “You weren’t even looking at me!”  She cried out at him.

Without moving his focus from the object of his fascination he spoke to the girl to continue and that he was watching.  At which she continued to dance suggestively.

Exhausted, the girl sat down back into her chair.  She continued to try to carry on a conversation with the man as best she could.  She asked questions and he answered without ever looking at her.

Cathlina broke her gaze away from this man and peered intently on the girl.  She moved her gaze back to this man.  “Do you want her, sir?”  Cathlina inquired quizzically.

The man looked at the girl as well and licked his lower lips indulgently.  “Mmmr, perhaps I do.”  He turned to Cathlina. “What do you have in mind?”  His eyebrows furrowed.

Cathlina stood up and sauntered to the girl.  She placed her hands on her shoulders moving the girls hair from her neck. The girl did not move, she seemed frozen by Cathlina’s touch.  Cathlina glided her hand up the girl’s neck ever so gently. She stared at the man.

“Beautiful veins I can see.”  His voice was deepening

“The better the blood flow.”  Cathlina replied

The girl winced at that, but dared not move.  Her body seemed to be trembling ever so slightly.  A small bead of sweat formed on her forehead and dripped down.

Cathlina racked her nails slightly up the girl’s neck.  She smiled evilly at the man sitting before the girl.

“Such firm skin.”  Cathlina continued

“Yes.  The better grip of the flesh between my teeth.”  He responded hotly as Cathlina ran her hands up into the girl’s hair.

The girl had tears starting to form in her eyes.  Not a sound could she mutter, not so much as a peep.  She sat there frozen in fear.  Staring at the man, she couldn’t break her gaze.

The man’s eyes glowed a preternatural dark red and his skin flushed.  His sight fixated on Cathlina and the girl simultaneously.  He shifted as Cathlina bent down and ran a tongue up the girl’s neck.

“How tasty and aromatic she is.”  Cathlina smiled while staring at the man.

He growled low and hard from his stomach, his eyes glowing brighter and his features seeming to take on more of a beastly appearance than that of a man.  He sat up in his chair as if he were fixing to break free from confinement.

The girl cried out, but only slightly.  Tears were streaming down her face and she looked like a cornered rabbit, waiting to be slaughtered and eaten.  She mumbled something incoherent and Cathlina just laughed.  She touched the girl’s neck with her fingers and the girl passed out. Without missing a beat, or letting anyone even see.  He had the girl in his grip and flung her over his shoulder and out the back door before without anyone even noticing.

They left the girl in the alleyway with not a drop of blood left in her body.  The man was breathing hard and heavy, and Cathlina took his face into her hands, and the breathing slowed.
She smiled at him with so much adoration and caring.  “Was it good my Giuseppe?”  She asked searching his eyes.

He growled again smiling at her.  He crushed a kiss onto her lips letting her taste the blood that was there.
She returned his kiss with just as much passion and strength.  She grabbed his arms and he lifted her to carry her the few blocks to the car.

“You were absolutely perfect my love.”  He smiled
